GoVA Partners with C&F Bank

Expanding Financial Education Access for Low- and Moderate-Income Military Families in Virginia 

Henrico, VA (September 12, 2025) – GoVA Foundation announces a strategic partnership with C&F Bank, a Virginia-based community bank, to provide free digital financial education resources to low- and moderate-income (LMI) military families through GoVA’s innovative platform, The Edge. 

Through a Community Development grant from C&F Bank, the program will serve 15 qualified military households across the Virginia Beach assessment areas, focusing on York County, the City of Williamsburg, City of Newport News, City of Hampton, City of Poquoson, and James City County. The Edge platform offers interactive courses, financial calculators, and other digital resources designed to build financial empowerment within the military community. Additionally, C&F Bank will host quarterly financial education webinars featuring bank experts presenting topics specifically relevant to military families, beginning with a budgeting and savings workshop during Veterans Day week in November.

The partnership launched in September 2025, and reflects both organizations’ commitment to supporting military communities and expanding financial education access. C&F Bank will receive LMI verification and impact reports as part of the grant agreement, while sponsored military members gain unlimited access to The Edge’s financial education tools for a full year. 

This collaboration is part of GoVA Foundation’s ongoing efforts to partner with forward-thinking financial institutions nationwide in service of military families.
